Summary

This study looked at whether treating gum disease (periodontitis) can help people with diabetes better control their blood sugar. 91 adults with both diabetes and gum disease took part. Half received gum treatment right away, while the other half waited. The main measure was a blood test called hemoglobin A1c, which shows average blood sugar over time.
