Ventilator settings under the microscope: can we breathe easier?

NCT ID NCT07188038

First seen Sep 30, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study looks at how different levels of pressure from a breathing machine (ventilator) affect the lungs and diaphragm in 25 ICU patients with respiratory failure. Each patient will try three pressure settings to see which one helps them breathe more efficiently and with less effort. The goal is to find the best way to support breathing without overworking the diaphragm.
