No more math mistakes: new paramedic protocol aims to stop Kids' seizures faster
NCT ID NCT05121324
First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests a simpler way for paramedics to treat seizures in children. Instead of calculating doses, paramedics will use age-based, pre-set doses of a seizure-stopping medicine given as a shot or nasal spray. The goal is to see if this approach stops seizures before the child reaches the hospital, and if it is as safe as the current method. About 6,700 children will take part across 20 cities.
