Can a Fast-Paced slideshow help dialysis patients stick to their diet?

NCT ID NCT07518017

First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tests whether a special teaching method called Pecha Kucha can help people on hemodialysis better follow their fluid and diet restrictions. The method uses a fast, visual slideshow to make information easier to remember. 70 patients will be split into two groups: one gets the Pecha Kucha lesson, the other gets standard education. Researchers will check if the new approach leads to better fluid control and potassium levels.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

Pecha Kucha-based education

What this could lead to

If it works, this could offer a simple, low-cost way to help dialysis patients better manage their fluid and diet restrictions, potentially improving their health and quality of life.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early-stage trial with only 70 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The education method may not lead to lasting behavior change or better health outcomes.
