First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 04, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study tests whether avoiding foods identified by a skin patch test can improve irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) symptoms. Adults with IBS will have patches containing 80 different foods placed on their back to check for allergies. Those with positive reactions will avoid those foods for 16 weeks, and researchers will compare their symptom changes to a sham diet group.
