First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 30 times
Summary
This study examines whether removing overactive parathyroid glands (parathyroidectomy) improves blood sugar control in people with both type 2 diabetes and primary hyperparathyroidism. Researchers will also track changes in bone health. About 80 adults are being observed—some having surgery, some not—to compare outcomes. The goal is to understand if surgery offers added benefits for diabetes management.
