NCT ID NCT07314489
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study is testing whether taking pancreatic enzyme supplements (Creon) can improve blood sugar control and digestive function in people with chronic pancreatitis who have trouble digesting food. Researchers will monitor 80 participants over time to see how their glucose levels and hormone responses change. The goal is to better understand the link between digestive and blood sugar problems in this condition.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Pancreatic enzymes (Creon, pancreatin enteric-coated capsules)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could show that pancreatic enzyme supplements help stabilize blood sugar and improve digestion in people with chronic pancreatitis.
What could go wrong
This is a very early, small study (80 people) with no placebo group, so results may not be conclusive. It only looks at short-term changes, not long-term outcomes.
