New hope for stage IV breast cancer: adding surgery or radiation to targeted therapy
NCT ID NCT03870919
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looks at whether adding surgery or radiation to a standard drug combination (palbociclib plus letrozole) can help people with newly diagnosed stage IV ER+/HER2- breast cancer live longer. About 200 women with cancer that has spread beyond the breast will receive the drug combo, and some will also get local treatment on their breast tumor. The goal is to see if this combined approach improves overall survival compared to drugs alone.
