Dental pain breakthrough? pills before needle may boost numbing

NCT ID NCT07146997

First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026

Summary

This study tested whether taking ibuprofen and serratiopeptidase before a dental numbing shot helps it work better for people with severe tooth pain from pulpitis. 96 adults were split into four groups: placebo, ibuprofen alone, serratiopeptidase alone, or both. Pain was measured during drilling and root canal steps. The goal is to see if the combination improves numbing success.
