First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 06, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study tested if taking ibuprofen and serratiopeptidase before a dental numbing shot helps it work better for people with severe tooth pain (irreversible pulpitis). 96 adults were split into four groups: placebo, ibuprofen alone, serratiopeptidase alone, or both drugs together. Pain levels were measured during drilling and root canal treatment. The goal was to see if the combination reduces pain and improves numbing success.
