First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether listening to a brief mindfulness audio recording while waiting for an orthopedic appointment can help reduce pain. 400 adults will be randomly assigned to hear either a mindfulness practice or a standard pain management recording. The goal is to see if a simple, no-drug approach can make a difference in how unpleasant or intense their pain feels right then.

What this could lead to

If it works, this could offer a simple, drug-free way to ease pain while patients wait for their appointment.
