New injection cocktail aims to slash pain after lung surgery

NCT ID NCT07626489

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether injecting a combination of a numbing drug (ropivacaine) and an anti-inflammatory steroid (diprospan) into the surgical cuts before lung surgery can reduce pain and the need for strong painkillers afterward. About 100 adults having keyhole lung surgery will be randomly assigned to receive either the combination or the numbing drug alone. The goal is to see if the combo provides longer-lasting pain relief and improves recovery.
