First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 31 times

Summary

This study aims to understand how psychological factors, such as expectations and emotions, influence the way we perceive pain. Healthy volunteers aged 18-50 will undergo brain scans (MRI) and pain tests (heat or electric shocks) while their heart rate, breathing, and other responses are monitored. The goal is to learn more about the brain's pain matrix and how it interacts with other senses like taste and vision.
