New study aims to ease pain for dementia patients in nursing homes

Summary

This study tests a program to help nursing home staff better assess and manage pain in residents with dementia. The program includes staff education, mentoring, and regular check-ins over 12 months. Researchers will compare this program to standard education alone in 12 communities with 300 residents aged 60 and older.
