Ozonated ointments may improve surgical scar quality
NCT ID NCT07678372
First seen Jul 01, 2026 · Last updated Jul 14, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study tests whether using ozonated soap and oil after open abdominal surgery leads to better scar quality than standard care alone. About 144 adults having scheduled abdominal surgery will be randomly assigned to either add the ozonated products to their usual wound care or receive standard care only. A blinded evaluator will assess scar appearance at 3 months using a validated scale, and patients will also report their own scar experience.
