Oxygen drops common after Weight-Loss surgery, nurses often step in
NCT ID NCT07174674
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 33 times
Summary
This study watched 563 patients during their first night after weight-loss surgery to see how often their oxygen levels dropped and what nurses did about it. Patients received extra oxygen, but researchers wanted to know how many low-oxygen events happened and what actions nurses took, like waking the patient or adjusting the oxygen flow. The study did not test a new treatment—it simply gathered information to better understand these events and find out which patients might be at higher risk.
