Summary
This study is testing if teaching hospital staff to aim for a specific, slightly lower oxygen level (90-96%) in adult ICU patients on breathing machines helps them recover faster. The main goal is to see if this approach reduces the number of days patients need the ventilator. It will involve about 3,600 patients across several hospitals.
