Sleep drug shows promise for PTSD fear relief in veterans

Summary
This study tests whether suvorexant, a medication already used for insomnia, can help Veterans with PTSD and sleep problems better process and reduce fear responses. About 40 Veterans will take the drug for 7 nights and undergo fear conditioning and extinction tests. The goal is to see if blocking a brain chemical called orexin can improve how the brain unlearns fear, potentially leading to better PTSD treatments.
