Study tests if education changes surgery decisions for prostate cancer

NCT ID NCT04705038

Summary

This study tested whether providing education about surgical castration (orchiectomy) would make more prostate cancer patients choose this option. It involved 101 men with advanced prostate cancer who were already receiving lifelong hormone-blocking injections. Researchers measured how many patients opted for surgery after learning about it compared to continuing with medication.
