Mind over heart: study tests if expectations boost ablation outcomes

NCT ID NCT05557526

First seen Apr 30, 2026 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study looks at whether helping patients understand what to expect before a procedure for atrial fibrillation (an irregular heartbeat) can improve their quality of life. About 60 adults with symptomatic atrial fibrillation will be split into two groups: one gets extra expectation guidance, the other standard care. The main goal is to see if the guidance group feels better and has fewer symptoms in the first three months after the procedure.
