First seen Feb 23, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study tests whether men recovering from robotic prostate surgery can manage pain without automatically receiving opioid painkillers. Participants are counseled on pain management and then randomly assigned to either receive a standard opioid prescription plus other pain medicines, or only other pain medicines with the option to request opioids if needed. The goal is to reduce opioid use and side effects while maintaining good pain control.
