Can prostate surgery patients avoid opioids? new trial tests pain relief without addiction risk

NCT ID NCT05597878

Summary

This study compares two approaches to managing pain after robotic prostate cancer surgery. One group receives standard opioid pain medication, while the other receives a combination of non-opioid drugs like ketamine, ketorolac, and acetaminophen. Researchers want to see if the opioid-free approach provides similar pain relief while reducing opioid use and side effects for 100 male participants.
