New antibody targets FGFR1 to fight metastatic cancers
NCT ID NCT07292168
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests a new drug called OM-RCA-01, an antibody that blocks a protein called FGFR1 found on some cancer cells. About 58 adults with metastatic kidney, lung, prostate, breast, or head and neck cancers that express FGFR1 will receive the drug by IV every two weeks. The goal is to find a safe dose and see if it can slow tumor growth.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- OM-RCA-01 (a monoclonal antibody targeting FGFR1)
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could provide a new treatment option for several metastatic cancers that express FGFR1, potentially slowing tumor growth.
- What could go wrong
- This is an early-phase trial with only 58 participants, so results may not apply broadly. The drug may cause side effects or fail to shrink tumors.
