First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 34 times
Summary
This study tested whether applying olive oil to the skin can relieve itching in people undergoing hemodialysis for kidney failure. Sixty-eight patients were split into two groups: one received olive oil applications for two weeks, the other received no treatment. The researchers measured itching severity using standard scales before and after the study. The goal was to see if olive oil's moisturizing and anti-inflammatory properties could help reduce this common and bothersome symptom.
