First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study aims to understand the natural bacteria living on the surface of the eye in both healthy people and those with certain eye conditions. Researchers will collect eye swabs from 500 adults in middle Tennessee to build a database of what a normal eye microbiome looks like. The goal is to learn how these bacteria might influence eye health and disease over time.
