First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jul 31, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study compares two types of employment services for adults with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) who are unemployed and want to work. All 40 participants will receive up to 12 sessions of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and half will also get Individual Placement and Support (IPS) job coaching while the other half gets standard vocational services. The goal is to see which approach better helps people find and keep competitive jobs.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
Individual Placement and Support (IPS) and Standard Vocational Services (SVS)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could show that specialized job support helps people with OCD find and keep employment, improving their quality of life.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage study with only 40 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The job support may not lead to lasting employment for all.
