First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study looks at how genetics, eating habits, and lifestyle affect obesity risk in adults aged 18 to 70 in Georgia. One hundred participants will be split into two groups: one follows a reduced-portion diet and exercise plan for 8 weeks, while the other serves as a control. Researchers will track changes in calorie intake, BMI, and body composition to see if the program helps prevent obesity.

What this could mean

Active substance

diet and exercise

What this could lead to

If successful, this could help identify effective diet and exercise strategies to prevent obesity in at-risk adults.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early-stage study with only 100 participants over 8 weeks. Results may not apply to broader populations, and long-term adherence to the diet and exercise plan is uncertain.
