Summary

This study tests a 12-week nurse-led program for childhood cancer survivors aged 13-18 and their parents. The program includes face-to-face and online sessions to help manage symptoms, improve self-care, and connect families with other health professionals. Sixty-eight families will be randomly assigned to the program or usual care to see if it is feasible and helpful.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only โ€” not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
nurse-facilitated interdisciplinary transitional care programme
What this could lead to
If successful, this program could improve symptom management and quality of life for childhood cancer survivors and their families during the transition from hospital to home.
What could go wrong
This is a small feasibility study with only 68 participants, so results may not apply to all survivors. The program requires active participation and may not work for everyone.
