New Brain-Mapping tool could prevent nerve damage during radiation

NCT ID NCT04062305

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jul 17, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tests whether a non-invasive brain-mapping tool called nTMS can help doctors plan radiation treatment for brain tumors near the motor cortex—the area that controls movement. About 22 adults who already had radiation for brain tumors will undergo nTMS to see if it provides useful information to guide safer, more precise radiation dosing. The goal is to reduce the risk of nerve damage without adding extra cost or burden to patients.
