Brain cell injection trial hopes to ease Parkinson's symptoms
NCT ID NCT07102342
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This early-phase trial tests a new treatment called NouvNeu001 for people with advanced Parkinson's disease. It involves injecting special brain cells directly into areas of the brain that control movement. The study will enroll just 5 participants to see if the procedure is safe and tolerable, and to get a first look at whether it might improve motor and non-motor symptoms.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Human Dopaminergic Progenitor Cells (NouvNeu001)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a new way to replace lost brain cells and improve motor function in advanced Parkinson's disease.
What could go wrong
This is a very early, tiny trial with only 5 people. It is designed mainly to check safety, not prove effectiveness. Brain injections carry risks like bleeding or infection, and benefits may be minimal or absent.
