Scientists probe the 'Mind after Midnight' to understand suicide risk
NCT ID NCT07438912
Summary
This study aims to understand why suicide risk appears higher during the late-night hours. Researchers will observe about 90 adults who have recently experienced suicidal thoughts, testing their mood and decision-making when awake between 2:00 and 4:00 AM. The goal is to learn if being awake at this time, combined with sleep pressure, contributes to negative feelings and thoughts.
