Can changing what smokers are told about nicotine change how they smoke?
NCT ID NCT05108649
Summary
This study aimed to understand if providing smokers with different information about nicotine changes their beliefs and smoking behavior. For about a month, 74 daily smokers received either corrective facts about nicotine or standard information, while also smoking cigarettes with either normal or reduced nicotine levels. Researchers measured changes in participants' beliefs, how many cigarettes they smoked, and their exposure to toxins.
