First seen Feb 10, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study tests whether a low dose of niacin (vitamin B3), taken after meals, can help reduce fat buildup in the liver of people with metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD). Researchers will compare niacin to a placebo in 36 adults aged 50 to 80. The goal is to see if niacin can safely lower liver fat and improve how the body stores dietary fats.
