Radioactive drug takes aim at Hard-to-Treat cancers

NCT ID NCT07261631

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This early-stage trial is testing a new radioactive drug (177Lu-DFC413) to see if it is safe and can shrink tumors in people with advanced solid cancers like pancreatic, lung, breast, colorectal, and sarcoma. About 180 adults whose cancer has progressed after standard treatments will receive the drug. The study also tests a companion imaging agent (68Ga-NNS309) to help see where the drug goes in the body.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
a radioactive drug (177Lu-DFC413) and a diagnostic imaging agent (68Ga-NNS309)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could point toward a new targeted radiation treatment for several hard-to-treat cancers.
What could go wrong
This is an early Phase 1 trial with only 180 participants, so the main goal is safety, not proof of effectiveness. The treatment may cause side effects or not shrink tumors.
