Sound waves and a drug could fight brain cancer

NCT ID NCT07225621

First seen Nov 06, 2025 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study tests a new treatment for glioblastoma, a serious brain cancer. It combines a drug (5-ALA) with a special ultrasound device that sends sound waves into the brain to target cancer cells. About 103 people who have finished standard therapy will be randomly assigned to get either the active treatment or a sham procedure. Everyone continues standard chemotherapy. The goal is to see if the new approach helps people live longer without their cancer growing.
