New urine test could replace camera scans for bladder cancer patients

NCT ID NCT03193515

First seen Feb 04, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study aims to see if a new urine test can accurately detect bladder cancer recurrence in 300 people with a history of the disease. Currently, patients need a camera inserted into the bladder (cystoscopy) to check for cancer return. If successful, this simple urine test could reduce the need for invasive procedures and catch cancer earlier.
