New urine test could spare bladder cancer patients from painful scopes

NCT ID NCT03193515

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study is testing a new urine test that might find returning bladder cancer earlier and more accurately than current urine tests. The goal is to see if this test can reduce the need for cystoscopy, a procedure where a tiny camera is inserted into the bladder. About 300 adults with a history of bladder cancer will provide urine samples during their regular check-ups. If successful, this could make cancer surveillance much easier and less invasive.
