What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
transcutaneous tibial nerve stimulation
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a drug-free option to reduce urgent urination and improve quality of life for women with overactive bladder.
What could go wrong
This is a very small, early study with only 30 women. It compares the real treatment to a sham, so results may show no benefit. The treatment is not a cure and only aims to ease symptoms.
