First seen Jan 25, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study tested a gentle electrical stimulation of a nerve in the ear (called tVNS) in 52 older adults with a type of heart failure where the heart pumps normally but is stiff. The goal was to see if daily one-hour sessions for three months could reduce inflammation and improve heart function and exercise ability. The approach is non-invasive and aims to offer a new option for a condition with few effective treatments.
