Summary

This early study will test whether gentle ultrasound pulses applied to the kidneys can improve kidney function in 20 adults with chronic kidney disease (CKD). Participants will receive the ultrasound treatment three times a week for four weeks. Researchers will measure changes in kidney function and safety up to 12 weeks after treatment ends.

What this could lead to

If it works, this could point toward a non-drug way to slow kidney decline in chronic kidney disease.

What could go wrong

This is a very small, early exploratory trial with only 20 people and no placebo group. The treatment may not improve kidney function at all.
