First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study aimed to see if adding an anti-reflux procedure (Nissen fundoplication) to standard sleeve gastrectomy reduces heartburn better than sleeve gastrectomy alone in people with severe obesity. Only 2 participants were enrolled before the study was stopped early. The main goal was to check for acid reflux and use of heartburn medication after surgery.
