New online aid could help kidney patients navigate heart procedure risks
NCT ID NCT06920927
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
Many people with chronic kidney disease also have heart disease, but heart procedures like angiograms and surgery can raise the risk of kidney complications. This study tests an online decision aid called 'My Heart and CKD' that helps patients and doctors weigh the benefits and risks together. Researchers will enroll 220 adults in Canada to see if the tool improves informed decision-making and aligns choices with patients' values.
