New imaging reveals hidden lung damage from mucus plugs

Summary

This study looks at how mucus plugs in the lungs of people with severe asthma affect their ability to breathe. Researchers will use special MRI scans to see air flow in areas blocked by mucus. Five adults with severe asthma will be scanned before and after starting a new biologic medicine to track changes over 12 weeks.
