First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tests a smartphone app called MS CATCH that lets people with multiple sclerosis regularly report their mood to their neurologist. The goal is to improve how doctors screen and treat depression in MS. About 100 adults with MS and mild-to-moderate depression are taking part.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
MS CATCH smartphone application (behavioral intervention)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a simple, scalable way to catch and treat depression earlier in people with multiple sclerosis.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage study testing a tool, not a treatment. It may not improve depression outcomes or be practical in routine care.
