Scientists map MS damage to unlock mystery of walking problems

NCT ID NCT04220814

Summary

This study aimed to better understand how specific damage in the brain and spinal cord relates to walking difficulties in people with multiple sclerosis (MS). Researchers used advanced MRI scans and other tests on 94 adults with relapsing-remitting MS to see if the location and severity of lesions on key movement pathways could better predict a person's level of disability. The goal was to solve a known puzzle where standard scans don't always match a patient's symptoms.
