New mRNA vaccine could stop bird flu before it starts

Summary
This study tests a new mRNA vaccine (mRNA-1018-H5) designed to protect adults 18 and older from H5N1 bird flu, a virus that could cause a future pandemic. About 4,000 healthy volunteers will receive two doses of the vaccine or a placebo to see if it triggers a strong immune response and is safe. The goal is to have a ready-to-use vaccine if a bird flu outbreak threatens global health.
