New ultrasound tech challenges MRI for prostate cancer detection

NCT ID NCT05471128

Summary

This study is testing whether a new, high-resolution micro-ultrasound technology can find serious prostate cancer as well as or better than the current standard MRI-guided biopsy. It involves about 30 men who are either suspected of having prostate cancer or are already being monitored for it. Researchers will compare how often each method correctly identifies cancer that needs treatment, and they'll also see if the ultrasound method is practical to use in communities with limited healthcare access.
