Can MRI spare rectal cancer patients from surgery?

Summary
This study aims to develop a method using advanced MRI scans to predict whether rectal cancer has completely disappeared after chemoradiation. About 115 participants will be enrolled to test if MRI can accurately identify patients who could safely avoid surgery and instead be monitored closely. The goal is to reduce unnecessary surgeries and improve quality of life for patients.
