Brain tumor imaging study aims to find hidden cancer stem cells

NCT ID NCT01872221

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looked at whether a special MRI technique can identify the most aggressive parts of a glioblastoma brain tumor. Researchers took tissue samples from different areas of the tumor during surgery and tested them for cancer stem cells. The goal was to see if MRI markers match the biology of the tumor, which could help guide future treatments. 21 patients took part in this early-stage research.
