New MRI technique aims to spot pinched nerves more accurately
NCT ID NCT06971575
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether a special type of MRI called MR neurography can better detect pinched nerves in the neck (cervical radiculopathy) compared to standard tests. Researchers will enroll 20 adults with recent symptoms and compare imaging results with nerve tests and physical exams. The goal is to see if this approach improves diagnosis and helps predict which treatments work best.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Magnetic resonance neurography (MRN)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could lead to more accurate diagnosis of pinched nerves in the neck, helping doctors choose the right treatment faster.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early study with only 20 people, so results may not apply to everyone. The new imaging might not prove better than existing methods.
