Could a diaphragm release ease your neck pain?
NCT ID NCT07628348
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether a hands-on technique that releases the diaphragm can reduce neck pain and improve movement in people with cervical radiculopathy (a pinched nerve in the neck). Forty adults with neck pain for at least two months will receive either standard physical therapy or the diaphragm release plus standard therapy for four weeks. Researchers will measure changes in pain, neck motion, and chest expansion.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Diaphragmatic release technique (a hands-on therapy) plus standard physical therapy
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a simple, drug-free way to reduce neck pain and improve mobility for people with cervical radiculopathy.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial with only 40 people. The technique may not prove more effective than standard physical therapy, and results may not apply to everyone with neck pain.
