NCT ID NCT05364229
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether using MRI guidance to deliver an extra dose of radiation directly to the tumor can improve prostate cancer treatment. Forty men with localized prostate cancer will receive standard radiation to the whole prostate plus a targeted boost to the visible tumor. Researchers will check if this approach is feasible and safe, and will follow participants for up to 5 years.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Radiation therapy (MR-guided radiotherapy boost)
What this could lead to
If successful, this approach could improve tumor control and reduce side effects for men with localized prostate cancer.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early feasibility study with only 40 participants. It is not designed to prove effectiveness, and results may not apply to all prostate cancer patients.
